Silage solutions

Forage ensiling is a fundamental technique to preserve the nutritional value of crops throughout the year and to ensure consistent, high-quality feed for livestock. Proper forage fermentation and conservation directly impact animal health and overall farm efficiency.

At Emporvet, we offer specific solutions to optimize the ensiling process through the use of preservatives and additives that improve stability, accelerate fermentation, and reduce nutritional losses. Our goal is to help preserve forage quality, secure good intake, and contribute to the herd’s maximum performance.

Biological inoculants

At Emporvet, we provide farmers with a selection of highly effective inoculants, adapted to different forage types and ensiling conditions.

Chemical preservatives

At Emporvet, we offer a selected range of chemical preservatives, tailored to different crop types and conservation needs.

Silage covers

Protective silage covers are used to safeguard silos from potential damage, preventing water and air from entering the ensiled forage.

THE FOUR ESSENTIAL STEPS:

Thin plastic film: a transparent layer that prevents air from entering the silo.

Black-and-white plastic sheet: placed on top of the film to block sunlight from reaching the forage.

Green netting: highly resistant and durable, designed to protect against external damage caused by animals (birds, cats, wild boars).

Sealing bags: filled with gravel and placed around the trench perimeter, sealing the silo airtight while avoiding the need for tires.

ADVANTAGES:

  • Safe and easy coverage.
  • Quick handling when sealing and uncovering.
  • Gravel-filled bags prevent air entry around the edges.
  • Product widths adaptable to all silo sizes.
